Perry began in couture and his star-studded client list included Jennifer Lopez, Nelly Furtado, and Eva Longoria. Complemented by high-energy runway shows which have been the highlight of Australian Fashion Week since 1997, celebrity guests always appeared from Jodhi Meares, Megan Gale, and Alyssa Sutherland to name a few.
With demand for his garments reaching unprecedented levels, Alex Perry launched his "Ready-To-Wear" Collection in 2004, establishing the glittering Alex Perry flagship store in Sydney's iconic Strand Arcade.
Perry's passion for design knew no boundaries. Next came "Alex Perry Brides" followed by his accessories range and evening shoes.
Alex Perry's celebrity has now taken hold and in 2010 he became the anchor judge on Foxtel's ratings winner, Australia's Next Top Model.
In 2011 Alex was awarded the prestigious title 'Designer of the Year' at the 'Prix De Marie Claire'. He was also announced the 'Design Mentor' in the 3rd series of TV's cult show, Project Runway.
